A coalition of organizations dedicated to universal education for all children
GCE-US
The Global Campaign for Education-US (GCE-US) is a broad-based coalition of national and community-based organizations, international organizations, teacher unions, faith-based groups, and advocates dedicated to ensuring quality, inclusive, universal education for all children and youth. GCE-US is the US member of the Global Campaign for Education based in Johannesburg, South Africa, a global coalition with chapters in over 100 countries, and a 501(c)(3) charitable nonprofit organization.
Founded in 2003 by Gene Sperling, formerly the Director of the Center for Universal Education at the Council on Foreign Relations, GCE-US has grown into a thriving and diverse coalition with more than 40 member organizations across the country working together to increase awareness of the need for education for all.

What We Do
Judge us by our actions
The Global Campaign for Education-US (GCE-US) advances education as a fundamental human right by mobilizing people and institutions across the United States to champion universal, quality education through strategic coalition-building, powerful advocacy, and meaningful youth engagement.
Coalition-Building
We maintain the GCE-US coalition by convening regular meetings for GCE-US members, hosting an Advocacy Committee and Youth Engagement Committee, and highlighting members’ education initiatives via all GCE-US communication channels. The coalition provides a space for organizations and advocates to share best practices and program initiatives with other coalition members and to partner with others working on similar issues.
Advocacy
We work with the U.S. Government and key global policymakers to advocate for universal inclusive quality education for all, including international organizations, like the Global Partnership for Education and Education Cannot Wait. Grassroots advocacy is a big part of this process. To find ways to get involved, check out our Take Action pages, like Act with GCE-US.
Youth Engagement
We work with coalition partners to continue to advocate for youth inclusion in policy making and advocacy. We provide opportunities for youth from around the world to learn about topics related to our mission, like global education, community engagement, leadership, and advocacy techniques.
